Quickbase Certification Program Policies
The below Program Policies offer general information about taking Quickbase Certification exams. Full program details and terms are contained in the Program Agreement.
Accessing Certification Exams
Quickbase Certification Exams are offered via an online exam service and Exams are available for purchase via credit card at Quickbase University’s certification page. An exam’s listed price is for one attempt and retakes are not included. Promo codes are sometimes available via customer contracts or various promotions and can be used to purchase the Exam at a discount or at no cost, depending on the conditions of the promotion. Refunds of Exam fees are not offered under any circumstances. Exams must be taken by candidates in their own, named University account so that any resulting credential is attributed to them.
NOTE: The system that delivers our Certification Exams is normally unavailable for scheduled maintenance the third Saturday of each month from 2:00am - 8:00am US EST (New York - UTC -5).
Exam Results and Coaching Report
Exam results are available immediately onscreen for exams in production. Certification status may be communicated to the candidate's organization, but actual Exam results including score and Exam area performance are never shared with anyone other than the candidate. Additionally, all Exam attempts result in a coaching report that is emailed directly to the candidate upon Exam completion. This report can help candidates with unsuccessful attempts prepare for Exam retakes. General orientation to the report can be found in the Quickbase Certification Coaching Report document. Questions about an individual coaching report or coaching reports in general can be forwarded to university@quickbase.com.
Certification Credentials
Quickbase Certification Credentials are issued automatically upon Exam success in the form of a uniquely numbered digital certificate with a shareable URL for verification. Candidates receive an automatic email with the link to the certificate and a link to upload it automatically to their LinkedIn account. Quickbase Certification Credentials are valid for the calendar year in which they are earned. See Maintaining Certification below for maintaining credentials beyond the original first year.
Retake Policy
Candidates who do not pass the Exam on the first attempt may retake the Exam after a waiting period:
- 2nd attempt – waiting period of at least 24 hours after the first attempt
- 3rd – 5th attempts – waiting period of 14 calendar days between attempts
Maximum retakes: 5, in the 12-month period starting with the date of the first attempt
Candidates may not retake an Exam they have passed and for which they currently hold a Quickbase Certification Credential under any circumstances. However, in the case of a lapsed credential they may have to take the same Exam again in a different calendar year as described below under Maintaining Certification.
Maintaining Certification
Quickbase Certification Credentials are valid for the calendar year in which they are earned. To extend any given Certification Designation to the following calendar year, the following Certification Requirements must be met based on the date of the original successful Exam attempt as follows:
Exam Pass Date | Maintenance Requirements |
Jan 1 - Aug 31 | Listed PDU and/or other requirements must by completed by Dec 31st |
Sept 1 - Dec 31 | No maintenance requirements, the Credential Designation is automatically renewed for the next year |
Professional Development Units or PDUs are units of continuing education in Quickbase University. Each Certification Exam lists the specific PDUs and activities that must be completed by the end of the calendar year to enable the Credential Designation to be extended to the next year. See the details of the current year’s Exam for the specific Certification Requirements to maintain that Credential Designation for the next calendar year.
If a candidate does not complete the stated Maintenance Requirements before the end of December 31 of any year, their certification lapses and they must then retake the exam.
Beta Exam Policy
When developing exams, Quickbase University may offer free Exam attempts to a limited number of candidates to gather performance data. Beta exams are not yet validated and final results usually take 6-8 weeks to be calculated; however, success in a beta exam results in achieving the target certification. Access to beta exams is given at Quickbase University’s sole discretion. If you are interested in participating in the beta exam program, please contact us at university@quickbase.com.
